The simplest technique that you can use is to slow down your reps and repeating them in a slow manner makes the reps more effective since it improves the form and will also provide a fillip to development of muscles.

One of the best tips of all time is to avoid overtraining or excessive training. Excessive would generally be anything longer than one hour. Simple consistency of attending the gym 3 or 4 times a week and working out at a moderate to difficult pace would be enough to make nice gains.
